I scream You Scream.... ok maybe not...

Steve and I were driving around a few months ago and saw a sign outside a new empty bulding for a Sorbeterria. we looked at eachother eyebrows raised lips pursed "ooh Sorbet" we waited with great anticipation for this new place to open Steve especially cuz it would be a place with delicious fruity sorbet that he could eat and enjoy to his heart content. I hoped too... a place with delicious frozen treats Steve and i could go to and share... I'd been to such places places with delicious sorbet and gelatos. I remeber they were like frozen fluffy mounds of fruity goodness that melted on your tounge and made your taste bugs sing! Needless to say we both had high expectations of this place our expectations were so high i'm afraid they had nowhere to go but down... we didn't however expect them to crash and burn all around us in heaping piles of wreckage... When this alleged Sobeterria opened up and we wandered in full of hope and excitement we found not a single scoop of anything dairy-free that Steve could eat and not even a single scoop of ice cream Deaira couldn't go buy at the grocery store... Sure they had smoothies and fancy sundaes but they were all mixes and powders and someone elses formula that you can find at any sporting event or amusement park not one single original thing in the whole shop... We were so disgusted! I had hope hoped hoped for one of those little mom and pop places where everything i home made on site where fresh fruit is pureed down with just the right amount of sugar and maybe a touch of lemon juice to make the berries taste more like berries where a single bite tastes like the whole bushel! I could tell you stories about the most delicious gelato i ever ate it was grapfruit flavored!! So i've been thinking and steve and i have talked and thought there isn't a single place in this whole town where you can get real home made sorbet! a few places we've yet to discover may have 1 or 2 little flavors but no one has anything like it on a grand scale... What if i had a little shop... so many little shops i could open now... a tea shop a soup shop a gelato and sorbet shop... this one is different tho i dunno maybe cuz its closer to home... but it'd be fun a cool brightly colored shop filled with intensely flavored frozen treats edible by anyone.... i'd make sorbet and gelato pay special attention to people with dietary concerns no gluten no milk in the sorbet... gluten free ice cream cone sure thing! *sigh* who knows what is in store... but it'd sure be fun!

That sounds so wonderful! You should be a food critic. I love reading your descriptions. HAve you tried Walden's? I know they have sorbet, and I know it's expensive, but I had a scoop and it was good! I'd be curious as to what you would think about it.
